Sonoma, California: it's not just about wine tasting anymore. This weekend we visited Imagery Estate Winery because we had heard wonderful things about their handmade, oven-fired pizza. I am already a fan of their wine, so choosing one to drink with the pizza was not difficult. The temperature was a whooping 96 degrees in the late afternoon sun, so we opted for Wow Oui, a refreshing, crisp Sauv Blanc. While sipping my first glass in the courtyard, I spotted our Pizza Margarita heading towards the outdoor oven. The pizza chef, Mike Berardo of Amo Mangiare Catering, was nice enough to let me snap a few photos of our pizza being cooked, then he topped it with basil, fresh parm, and brushed with butter. Flavorful and chewy, it disappeared fast! If you need something to do while sobering up, you can play Bocci ball or have a picnic in the grassy area on the other side of the tasting room. I opted to take more photos instead.
