Exciting news for Frances fans: the popular San Francisco restaurant's Melissa Perello is opening a new restaurant in Lower Pacific Heights, to be named Octavia. I had the pleasure of shooting the Frances crew when Octavia was just a glimmer in Melissa's eye. I was intrigued to learn that Frances's kitchen was almost entirely female, which is a rare occurrence. Her sous chef Michaela Rahorst is stepping up to the plate at Frances as plans for the sister restaurant become a reality.
